His Interests

His interests are sport, especially soccer, which he now enjoys from the sidelines, travel, and current affairs. He also enjoys the theatre, with a special interest in ballet and musical productions.

Another hobby is flag collecting, which he started during his period as President of the Newcastle Business Club.  He now owns more than 60 National flags, as well as some message flags such as the English plague flag. and the Ken Done entry in the Australian Republican Movement search for a suitable flag.

Roy takes a keen interest in ancestry and with the help of a talented friend, has traced his family back to England in the 16th Century. He has visited the Wiltshire countryside around the village of Christian Malford where his ancestors lived.

His passion is community involvement and equity for disadvantaged people and deserving causes.
